Blackjack - Single player brain game

How to play:

Upon entering the Riddler.com Casino Blackjack game, you will be prompted to choose which dealer you want to play against. Each dealer has their own flare and attitude, so make sure to try them all!

After you select the dealer, choose a deck you'd like to play with. These decks are randomly pre-selected so each time you play you'll have a diffent deck selection.

Click the play button in the right corner to begin the Blackjack game! You can also just hit this button without selecting a dealer or deck, and the game will randomly choose them for you.

Once seated at the Blackjack table, you will start out with $3,000. To win the game, you'll need to walk away with at least $10,000. The minimum bid is always $100, so if you can't make that bid you will lose the game and be booted from the table.

Choose an amount to bid. You can choose a $100, $200, $500, or $1,000 betting chip. Once you bid, the dealer will give you two cards, and deal himself (or herself!) one card up and one card down.

The card values are as follows:
Ace = 1 OR 11 points 2 through 10 = face value Jack, Queen, and King = 10 points

If you get an Ace combined with a King, Queen, Jack, or Ten on your first two cards then you get a "Blackjack" and win 150% of your bet. If you don't have Blackjack, but later get a total of 21 from additional cards, the result is NOT a Blackjack. It's just plain 21.

If the card the dealer is showing is an Ace, King, Queen, Jack, or Ten, you will have the option of buying insurance. The idea of insurance to to protect you from losing to a dealer's possible Blackjack. The cost of insurance is half of your bet. If the dealer does have Blackjack, you will get the insurance money back and lose no money from your pot. If the dealer does not have Blackjack, you will lose the cost of the insurance and must play the hand normally.

The goal of a "normal" hand is to beat the dealer's own hand. If you go over 21, you bust and lose. If the dealer goes over 21, he/she loses the hand.

To add another card to your total, press the "hit" button. The dealer will deal you one card from the deck and will add it to your score.

To stop adding cards to your hand, press the "stand" button. The dealer will now play his/her hand.

If you win or the dealer busts, then you win however much money you bet. If you bust or the dealer wins then you lose the amount you bet. Ties result in a "push", which means no money changes hands.

Other game options include "split" and "double". You will be given the option to "split", if you are dealt cards of the same number face. In otherwords, if you are dealt two 8's or two K's you can split your hand. Once split, each hand is treated separately! You can hit and double on each hand. The amount you bid is put on each hand. So you could double your winnings if you win on both hands, but you could also lose both hands and thus lose double the money.

Do NOT hit "stand" until you have finished with BOTH hands. Hitting "stand" signals the dealer that you are done with both hands.

To switch from one hand to the other, push the "switch hand" button.

The "double" button allows you to double your bet for one and ONLY one card. If the total of your three cards is more than the dealer's total without busting, you win double your bet. If you lose to the dealer you lose double your bet.

A game will consist of many hands. Once you finish one hand, you will bet again and proceed with the above all over again until you fall below $100 or win at least $10,000.

That's it! The game is easy to pickup, but it will take some crafty strategy and a bit of luck to walk away a winner! Have fun!
